Japanese Cultural Society of Maui

The Center has a wonderful partner in the Japanese Cultural Society of Maui. Each January JCSM hosts a Shinen Enkai New Years celebration, and in 2004, 2005 and 2006, the Center was the beneficiary of the proceeds of the silent auction.
Thanks to the hard work and energy of JCSM members, the Center received $7,755 for our building fund from these silent auctions.

The Center is
honored to be the
host organization at the Maui Matsuri
tribute to world peace.
At our booth children and adults learn to make orizuru or folded paper cranes which are placed on a bamboo Peace Wall of Remembrance and are later sent to the Hiroshima Peace Park.
Our thanks to Kansha Preschool director Charlene Doi, who organizes the Center volunteers at this event.
