Volunteers gathered on the last Saturday of the year to get our Center ready for New Year’s. Our thanks to Club 100 and 442nd Veterans Club for helping to organize the event and provide the food.
The volunteers worked in the cool morning shade to polish the stainless steel handrails of the entry ramp into the adult day care building.
Michael, grandson of the late 522nd veteran Earl Tanaka, applies elbow grease on some stubborn spots.
Board member Roy Katsuda, and Andrew, grandson of a 442nd veteran, find a convenient lamp post seat as they tackle the nut grass that has grown lush with the winter rain!
Preschool teacher Leigh washes down the art patio behind the prschool.
Ted Kesaji weedwhacks the landscaping strips in the parking lot.
Gary Nakama and Stanley Izumigawa tackle the lush groundcover (and some very healthy weeds) on the hillside behind the Center.
Final job of the day was polishing the stainless steel gutters on the adult day care building.
