Less than 90 minutes later, the finishing touches were being put on the preschool slab. Pouring continued at the lower end of the site for the retaining wall next to the driveway. A few days later the forms were removed and voila! More of the Center -- a portion of the retaining wall with steps leading from the parking lot to the plaza -- had taken shape.	"It is exciting to have construction of our Center underway. But in a larger sense, the Center is not about bricks and mortar, rooflines and pillars, or courtyards and playgrounds. It is about passing on the values of the Nisei veterans – their patriotism, their humble fight for civil rights, their love of their community."
