The masons are continuing their work on
the Adult Day Care building walls, which are now peaking over
the retaining wall.
On this blustery morning a mason cuts the
cement block to fit the roof pitch.
"It is exciting to have construction of our Center
underway.
But in a larger sense, the Center is not about bricks
and mortar, rooflines and pillars, or courtyards and playgrounds.
It is about passing on the values of
the Nisei veterans – their
patriotism, their humble fight for civil rights, their love
of their community."
