Bridging the Generations
Two important concerns of the NVMC, the community's most vulnerable elderly and its youth, are reflected in various organization statements such as, "providing for continuing service to all generations," and "to recognize the youth and the elderly as our greatest resources and to provide for them as a necessity," and "nourishing lives that are just unfolding, nurturing lives well lived..." Actualized care for seniors and preschoolers has been facilitated by NVMC by providing and financially supporting the physical venue for a day care center for the community's elderly and a preschool for young children.
The Kansha Preschool operates the preschool, and the Maui Adult Day Care Center provides the elderly program. the The building housing these separately incorporated organizations was the NVMC's first phase of construction and was completed in March, 2006.
